black raspberry season!

...is unfortunately over now.  i took these pics last week, and ate a ridiculous amount of berries. 
i had exclaimed something brilliant on the internet like "i think i have some kind of blackberry/raspberry in my yard!" to which a friend replied "um yea, those are called black raspberries"  derp.  how was i to know?  but also according to the internet, the berries branch of year old canes.  so here's this year's crop! 

i'll cut the super tall canes down a bit so they fruit next year.  and now some berry close ups.  cos its necessary.

aand how do you know theyre raspberries?  cos theyre hollow.
