chicken two ways

modified alfredo with artichokes and roasted tomatoes
biryani.

why two ways?  wellllllll i bought 2 pounds of chicken.  and the internet and my ADD couldnt decide what i really wanted to eat.  i happened upon a recipe id pinned for chicken with artichoke and egg noodles, and proceeded to follow none of the directions.
abridged directions and ingredients:

box of pasta - cook and set aside
half pint [1 cup] heavy cream - put half and half back in fridge for another day
1 pound chicken thinly sliced - marinate in diced garlic and 1/2 cup artichoke brine
1 can artichoke hearts
1 can fire roated tomatoes
4 slices [low sodium] bacon
lots of pepper

cook bacon and set aside.  fry chicken [with marinade juice] in bacon fat until done, add remaining ingredients and crumbled bacon.  simmer 5 minutes until thickened.  simmer some more for good measure.  dump over pasta and try not to eat it all in one sitting.  top with parm straight from the green topped plastic thing.  or grate some if youre fancy.  i'm not.

id had the biryani packet lingering for god knows how long, and .. im now about 95% sure it wasn't expired.  dice chicken, marinate in biryani paste, a dash of lemon juice, and 1 cup water.  add diced garlic, large onion slices [to be removed later], and miscellaneous veges.  i had a large ziploc of frozen rainbow chard from this summer, about a 1/4 ziploc of kale from the same, and some roasted broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower leftover from new years eve.  i chopped everything, threw it in to marinate, and then fried it all up, added the rice and a little more water to make a sauce, and voila.  top with sunflower seeds.

also, can i just say, it really really annoys me to see people write "viola" or "wah-lah" or "vualah".  google and dictionary.com are your friends.  for fucks sake.
